already go tothe link below click on it and save itto your favorites it's my gift to youand it's absolutely free Okay so let'sget started so the quick control ideahas come a long ways especially where itused to be in terms of the remotecontrol option first time I tried to setup quick controls and search for videosto try and show me how it was anightmare and it was confusing and itdidn't work or it worked in a way thatwas very hard to manage these days withthe new remote options in Cubase it's alot simpler so if it's something youwant to take advantage of now is thetime definitely to do it pretty much anyVST that you open up like right now I'mlooking at Hellion along the top area ofyour VST instrument you'll have a buttonthat says QC which stands for the quickcontrols and when you hit that you'llget this list of eight different knobsto turn for quick controls by default itusually picks ones that are justavailable automatically on the VST butyou can reassign these to anything youwant you can right click on them toremote happen we're going to talk aboutthat in a minute and what it allows youto do is basically you know automate andquickly change different parameters onthe synthesizers now with every trackthat you open up with a VST and by theway this also applies to audio tracksmidi tracks sampler tracks effectschannels group channels and VCA fadersall these different kinds of tracks canhave quick controls but when you go overin the left in the inspector area againif I hit Hally and Sonic here when I goto the bottom I have an option that saysquick controls as well and it shows thesame eight slots in this case they'rekind of like sliders but if I move anyone of these let's say I take thisparameter here and I start to move itthe same knob up on top of Hellion willalso move I don't know if you can seethat or not but when I'm moving oneslider it moves and if I go up here andmove the knob you can see the slider ismoving as well they're both in sync witheach other and again you can reassignthese to whatever you want and there'sall kinds of options to learn here andwe're going to explore those coming upso besides having them in the projectthey're on the actual instrument thetrack quick controls are also availablein the mixer itself if you open up oneof your mixer and you go up to theoption that says racks come down towhere it says track quick controls andyou select that you'll see an optionthat says quick and when you click onthat it opens up and it shows you thequick controls it's a good way to beable to go through your channels and seewhich ones have quick controls alreadyassigned to them or which ones areactive so when it comes to assigningyour parameters on these quick controlsyour first option is the manual optiongo to my quick control tab over here Ican just pick any one of these quickcontrols click on the name and then Ican just find the parameter or I canclick on it and search for it and I cango down the list and continue assigningas I want to if these names are too longor they're confusing or they run off thescreen and you want to just changesomething to like cut off filter insteadof you know all the other gobbledygoopjust double click on the name and giveit a different name once you open up aninstrument back up on the panel and youopen up the quick controls you can dothe same thing if you left click over onthese parameter names you can give it aname or find the parameter you'relooking for just go through your listand assign them whatever you want if youwant to use the learn function there's abutton up here at the top that says Lwhen you click on that and it lights upyou can go down to your slot whateverone you want I'll pick this right hereand that kind of puts a marquee aroundthe name at that point I can go over toany knob or control on my BST when Istart to move it I will see the levelchange and the name change and it willreassign that slot to this new controlwhen I'm done moving it I come over andI turn the learn Knob Off on most ofyour vsts if they're vst3s you can go towhatever control you're trying to runand when you right click on it you'llhave various options of how to addthings and you should see an option ofhow to add any particular control towhatever slot you want it to be or ifit's not already assigned to a quickcontrol up on top you'll also see anoption to assign it to a particularquick control if you go along for awhile and you make all kinds of changesto the quick controls and you want toset everything back to default you havea third button over here that when youclick on it everything just goes back tothe default settings if you want toremove some of these quick controls makethese slots empty just like if you wereassigning something you can click on itat the top of the list you have anoption that says no parameter you canalso double click on it and hitbackspace or you have a button thatclears out all the parameters at once Ifind this to be good when you're settingup your remote control and you want tojust set up what slots you want and justwipe the slate and start with just yourown assignments once you've opened upthis quick control panel there's kind ofa hidden button over here that you maynot even notice and it's for the presetmanagement when you click on that youget a bunch of options for example youcan remove all the assignments or getthe default ones or show your automatedquick control assignments you have theoption at the bottom to save a preset sogive it a name save it when you want itonce you've saved a preset it'll show upat the top and you just click on the oneyou want anytime you need it if youdon't want these anymore you can removethem alrighty ready for one of thosehidden things that you probably didn'tknow about the kind of things that welook for on this channel if I come downto my tracks and I say let's add anaudio track I'm going to call this aquick control track just as a name nowthis is just a blank audio track allright there's no VST connected to itit's not a midi track it's just a blankaudio track if I come over to my quickcontrol tab which I see now has no quickcontrol assignments it's like before Ican click on the parameter and typicalthings like vime or mute from this audioChannel any of those things areavailable but here's the Hidden Gem ifyou hold down control and click on thisyou get basically a generic option ofwhere you want to send your quickcontrol and you can now look foranything throughout your project forexample any different track I have hereor any channel in the mixer or evendifferent things on my control roomsettings basically any place I want togo with a quick control and then I canassign it to this slot it has nothing todo with any particular track this onecould be an instrument for a piano thenI could choose a different VST down thelist for maybe my drum Channel and thenI can set these very particular kind ofVST quick controls for eight slots thatcan kind of like be a master list ofquick controls that I want to get toquick maybe the cutoff frequency for onesynthesizer and particular volume onanother synthesizer that I want to getto quick or a volume on a differentaudio Channel by holding control andclicking I can set up any assignment toany track in my project and I can mixand match them any way I want kind ofsettings can't be saved as a preset butthey are saved in your project so youhave them if you ever want to do thatper project create these kind of Masterlist quick controls the only thing youhave to pay attention to when you dosomething like this is that you're nowassigning and maybe automating tracksall over your project so if you seethings behaving across your projectchanging in ways you didn't expect beaware your one main quick control trackmay be controlling all those and thenthis last option I want to show youlet's say we automate a few things I'mgoing to write in some automationbut I'll click on The Ensemble mixplay mix maybe this Hall cut I'm goingto turn off my right Automation and nowI have all these different automationLanes under my halion if I close theseup I have all my automation hid at anytime I can go over to the track on thequick controls and when I hit thispreset management I have the option thatshows show the automated controlassignments and then at that point anyparameter that's assigned to a quickcontrol with automation that lane willshow up for me and that's all theinformation on quick controls all rightit's gonna wrap it up for today asalways you haven't grabbed yournavigation
