there's a link below to the freecontent navigation guide which is aneasy to navigate webpage with links toall the content on this channel andbesides that in the near future I'mgoing to begin adding tips and otherbits of information that will only beavailable there you know things likesimple steps that will get you startedand up and running quick things that arein the videos but are written down insimple steps that serve as quickreminders when you need information downthe road if you're working with programslike wavelab or Cubase plugins or thecable guys shaper box and many manyother projects that are in the worksthen I know you're going to find justlike I have that this is an invaluablestudy Aid and the other thing I want tomake sure you understand is that this isnot a simple PDF this is a constantlyupdated page that has any informationthat is new or anytime 10 videos arechanged really anything updated and onceyou have it you will always have thelatest information constantly updated soif you haven't gotten it already go tothe link below click on it and save itto your favorites it's my gift to youand it's absolutely free Okay so let'sget started so we're on our third videoas we continue this journey through themaster section all previous videos asalways here in the navigation guide inthe link below this video but let'sstart out talking about the plug-inchain window I have a master rig on thefirst effect slot over here in themaster section and I also have adithering plug-in later on down the lineand if I go to the settings option atthe last Point here up on the mastersection on the right here and I click onthat there's an option as you go down itsays use the plug-in chain window andright now mine's checked let me show youwhat that means if I click on the masterrig this first slot here I get themaster rig but if you look at the topthere's tabs along the top of the masterrig and if I hit any of these tabs itchanges to that particular plug-inwhatever it is and that's a reflectionof what's in the master section here ifI click on these effects as I go downthe master section it has the sameeffect as if I'm hitting those tabs upon the top and what this is doing isit's allowing you to have all youreffects uh basically in one window andwhenever you click on it that's whattakes over that particular effect takesover in this one particular window butit's just one window for everything onthe other hand if we turn this off andwe go over here and we go to this optionand we uncheck the option that says usethe plug-in chain window now if I hit mymaster rig at the top I get the sameMaster rig but there's no more tabs uphere and it no more reflects whatever isin the rest of these slots here and if Ihit another effect like this ditheringplug-in it now opens its own window soit's really just whatever you you knowwhatever you like there's pros and consas for everything to you know havingseparate windows are all in one windowbut me personally I kind of like theidea of having it in one window andhaving it change whenever I click onthis particular slot it just takes upless real estate so for me that worksbest so I leave this option use theplug-in chain window checked now anothergreat option in wavelab you have ofcourse you always have your undo redoand that kind of stuff when you'remaking edits but the effects have theirown set of undo and redo which is reallynice for example if I have thisequalizer here and I start making youknow changes to the equalizer there's alittle undo redo Arrow up here on thetop and I can click that and undowhatever I did on the effect itself or Ican redo it which is you know it's niceoption to have normally your undo andredo is like a control Z when you'relooking at the effect it's alt Z if youhaven't changed your shortcuts and if Ihold alt shift and Z then it does a redoso it's a real quick easy way to undoand redo any effect changes you makethis only applies to the active pluginso if it's not behaving you got to hitthis little title bar to kind of makesure it's you know selected then againup in the plug-in window you have thisthing that looks like the letter a andif you hit it it changes to the letter Bwhich gives you a very quick way tochange you know and have a comparison ofsomething so if I leave this a like thisand then I go to B and I make some otherchanges to this one and now I hit theletter A again it changes back so I cando a real quick a b comparison thisapplies to actually removing the effectsas well if I take these effects rightout of this chain here and then I hitthe letter B again I get all thoseeffects back with those settings or Iget the effects I've taken out withthose settings so that is just a reallyuseful feature next to the A and B youhave this little arrow and if you wantto copy the a to the b or the B to the athat's what it gives you that option foragain up on the plug-in window on thevery left you have the bypass which isthe same as you have over on the actualMaster section itself and then on theright you have a power off button whichtotally turns the effect off this ismore of a processing power optionbecause the bypass still takes upprocessing power where turning theeffect off reserves more of your powerand then just when you think thingscouldn't get any better you get thiskind of stuff I am just amazed at whatis here that you probably just don'tknow about until you dig into this againif you know about this feature I applaudyou but these are the kind of thingsthat just totally amaze me so as we'relooking at our effect in the in themaster section here I put a limiter inplace as I play my songI'm gonna bring up the limiterand you know again as you're listeningto the limiter and you pull the leveldownof course you can hear it crushing thesong of death[Music]but sometimes it's hard to tell wherethat point is where the limiter stopsum you know affecting the signal orstops affecting the Peaks rather andstarts cutting into the actual sound ofthe you know your music well enter thisamazing little feature that's right hereas you look at the little uh menus thatwe're examining up here you have yourbypass right next to the bypass you havelistened to affected signal only and ifyou kick this on you hear only what theeffect is doingwhich let me show you what the value ofthat is as I start the song now I'mgoing to hit this listen to effect onlyand this is the limiterlet me turn that up in case you can'thear itwhat you can hear now is the limiter ishitting the Peakssee that is catching all those littlesharp little Peaksnow I'm going to turn the clip gain upwatch what happens when I do thishear thatyou can hear the limiter is now cuttinginto the actual music of the song[Music]you probably don't want that maybe youdo I don't know but that's for me that'san undesirable uh artifact you don'twant that you want the limiter to do itsjobof only catching the Peaks and when youcan hit the the wet signal you're ableto actually hear exactly where thatpoint isand totally utilize you know yourlimiter to the fullestthat kind of stuff is just amazing to meall right that's going to wrap it up fortoday as always if you haven't grabbedyour navigation guide be sure to grabthat before you go links to all thecontent on the channel ever growing freeto use just look at the link below thisvideo click on it download it save it toyour favorites it's a study guide that Iput together to help you and help me sothat when we need to understandsomething or go looking for answers wedon't have to work so hard at it thetools in wavelab are there reallyare there really anything like it Idon't know I mean the the more I diginto this program and the more Idiscover the more I just have to go wowI mean they just the things they havethought about you know I mean you knowthere's always room for improvement anddon't get me wrong I spend plenty oftime on the Forum offering up what Ithink needs to be improved but whatthey've got right it's it's just amazingit really just amazes me every day whenI find something new about this programthe fact that you can listen to the wetsignal you know and hear that limiterand don't stop there check it out withyour compression settings just on and onin terms of you know figuring out how tooperate these tools and the value ofthem they're Second To None all rightthat's it as usual it's great to haveyou guys herego make some great music I'll see you inthe next video
