are written down in simplesteps that serve as quick reminders whenyou need information down the road ifyou're working with programs likewavelab or Cubase plugins or the cableguys shaper box and many many otherprojects that are in the works then Iknow you're going to find just like Ihave that this is an invaluable studyAid and the other thing I want to makesure you understand is that this is nota simple PDF this is a constantlyupdated page that has any informationthat is new or anytime videos arechanged really anything updated and onceyou have it you will always have thelatest information constantly updated soif you haven't gotten it already go tothe link below click on it and save itto your favorites it's my gift to youand it's absolutely free Okay so let'sget started so we're on the third videonow as we continue discussing you knowtext lyrics and fonts and all that kindof stuff in the score in Cubase and theprevious videos and all the videos forthis channel are always in thenavigation guide in the link below butlet's leave it off to date looking atthis option that really you can changejust about any font option in your scorewe've been looking at you know thevarious ways to go specific with anykind of like I got a lyric here if Iright click on it then I can go to thefonts and different things like that butat any time that you want to go a littledeeper with anything you need specificgo up to your score menu and down tosettings and in your tabs with all thesedifferent tabs go to your project andthe font settings and then you have onethat says project text and attributesets and the project text you have allkinds of different drop downs start withbut right away in the font area you havethis font for and if you click on thisthis gives you access to probably justabout anything you'd want to change inthe you know score you have the barnumbers you have the staff names thetime signatures on and on and on andeven at the bottom it says all others soif it doesn't get covered in the mainlist it's probably going to get coveredin this generic all other but let's do aquick example so we look up here and wehave a bar number that says 113 or 113and it's in the font that it's been if Igo down here and I say bar numbers whichit is and let's say I go to my fonts andI start spinning in some different fontsyou can just do that with your model soyou can also just hit the drop down listwhatever you want to do but once youfind something you hit apply and now mymeasure numbers have completely changedI could do this with the name of thetrack the time signature any number ofthings I want to change now if you goalong and you say you know I don't knowif I like that and you're not sure whatfont you started with no big deal justgo down and hit default hit apply andit'll go back to where it was originallyas we talked about in the last videowith this attribute sets if you wind upcustom minimizing a lot of things inhere you know that you want to be veryspecific about then you can go back andsave this as a attribute set again watchthe previous video and give youinstructions and all of that then youcan always save these attribute sets fora quick you know access to changes youwant to makeso then you have the option to replacewordsif I go up to my scores go down tofunctions and then look for find andreplace for example I say here is alyric that I wrote for this song If Iwant to replace this with a I can typein this say replace it with uh hit OKand that's exactly what it does here isa lyric that I wrote for a song Allright so then let's look at the some ofthe options for editing these staffnames that being the idea that righthere on mine it says work piano on thisstaff and up here it says work piano andof course real estate is at a premium onthis stuff you may or may not want thesewords here so if you go up to yourscores come down to your settings andyou have these various tabs if you go tothe layout one over on the right youhave the option to show the staff namesif I check that or uncheck it hit applythose staff names go away if I click itagain let's bring it back in if I moveover to the staff tab the next one overyou have an option to start renamingthese I can pick the track I want tochange and then you have this option tochange the long and the short name whatdoes that mean exactly the long namelet's go ahead and type in Longcome down hit apply and up here itchanged it from work piano to the wordlong the long names are the ones thatusually appear on this first page if youhave multiple pages and your score isbigger and you type in these short namesthen you'll get these names on thefollowing Pages if you want to go backto whatever it had before just click inhere and erase it or backspace it out ofthere and then hit apply and it'll goback to whatever the words wereoriginally so as with just about everyother element on the staff this propertyis over on the rightcontinues to be like probably thefastest and easiest way to get to mostof the things you can do and thatapplies to these staff names as well ifI click on the staff name here this workpiano it immediately lights up all theseoptions over here in the properties andyou have options for entering the longnames and the short names and otherthings here where it says edit the subnames A lot of these things are notmaking sense until we get more into thelayout and multiple Pages which we'regoing to be getting into shortly andthere's also some options here that arediamonds you always want to make sureyou can check those and make you knowyou see all the options that areavailable there you can change from Boldand italic and all these changes andthey change pretty much in real time asyou click on them but again one of thethings that will be confusing and youwant to know how to get in and out ofthis is this hidden option that keepscoming up and for this one you have anoption to check or uncheck to show thestaff names so right now I have thestaff name over here on the left and ifI uncheck thisthat staff name disappears missionaccomplished right problem is there's noway to bring it back and your propertieshave now just disappeared if you go backup to your Scores menu and down to yoursettings this is kind of the fail savefor all the things in the score and ifyou know your way around the settingspage you know you'll be able to findanything you kind of disappeared or lostor anything you've changed so if you goon this one to the project to the layouttab here over on the right you have theoption to show the staff names now rightnow it's checked which would make youthink it would work if I hit apply butstill no staff name has shown up sosometimes you have to uncheck it andthen check it again to kind of wake itup and then when you hit apply if yourstaff names disappeared now they'regoing to come back into view here andthen we come to the subject of melismalines what are those those are the linesthat connect your syllables over manynotes I have the word sing but I'm goingover four or five different notes hereand I'm going to want to hold the youknow the first part of the singbefore it hits the last part and youcould put dashes over this but butthey've already built this option inthat if you click on whatever word orsyllable you have you immediately havethis little bar that you can extend ifyou click on this and pull it then youget these melisma lines in this caseit's dotted line which now tells youyou're going to hold this syllable vowelover these notes and you have variousways you can change the fonts on this ifI click this again to highlight it againI can go over to my properties and I cango to the melisma style I can havedotted like I have or I can make it asolid line just like that if I want touse it on some text maybe I'll come downhere and write somethingmaybe some instructions I want here thenI can grab the melisma line and drag itout and again maybe I don't want itdotted maybe I want it to be a longstraight line if I select it again maybeI want the end of this line to dosomething different so I have a melismaand option of plane or a down option oran up option or even an arrow if I wantit so great options to add to your longheld out vowels and words and stuff nowagain I'm finding that this propertyscreen over here on the right is reallythe go-to way to get to just aboutanything you want to do at the same timesometimes this doesn't show up you gotto always want to know how to do thesame thing up in your settings so if wego up to scores and come down tosettings and then we look for the tabthat says text as we move down the listwe have the same options for the melismastyle or the end where I can change itfrom an arrow or a solid or a dottedline or any of those things and then wehave some properties for the bar numbersthemselves if you're looking at yourscore and you can see some bar numbersup here if you click on one of thosethen you'll get a set of properties asusual on the rightthis first bar says one one three andthis first option says buyer offset andif I spin that forwards or backwardsthese numbers change from one one threeto one one twelve to 111 or back up inother words they just change the numbershow much you want to offset the barright now I can see these bar numbersEvery Other Bar there's a bar numberhere nothing here there's one here andnothing here if I go down here and I sayshow me every right now it says two barsif I just click on that and I hit thenumber one and then I move somewhereoutside of it now it shows me the barson every single bar here this first onethat says one one three is kind of overthe time signature if I come up here andclick this option that says first to thebar line it moves that one one threeright to the beginning of where the barline is if I go to the third option itsays below the bar lines and check thatall these bar numbers move to the bottomof the staff you have an option herethat says range with multi-rests andright now if I click on that it doesn'tdo anything if I go up to my scores comedown and select the page mode and as youcan see I have a rest on this bar andthen the following three bars if Iselect over one of these rests which nowbrings up properties for the reststhemselves and if I go up to this optionthat says consolidate and I put it onreally just about anything exceptturning it off I'll put it on numberthree here so now if I check this thingthat says range with multiple restsover here it's showing 1 16 through 119so I know I have three more bars ofrests over here and as usual I have thedown arrow for all the different fontsif I want to start changing the fontsaround and that kind of thing and that'sgoing to wrap it up for today as usualif you haven't grabbed your navigationguide be sure to grab that before you gohas links to all the content on thechannel ever growing and free to usecontent is in order and categorized bysubject and it's there to help you learnall this stuff a whole lot easier sothat wraps up pretty much everything onthe text and lyrics end of things todaywe kind of went through the fonts forsome of the elements and the find andreplace option we talked about editingthe staff names and the staff nameproperties we got into the melisma linesand the buyer offset and the bar projectsettings still more things to go in thescore and we're going to be addressingall of those as we make this anothertool that we understand how to use whichis the whole point of what we do aroundhereas always it's great to have you guyshere and I'll see you on the next video
