hello everybody Andrew Blake from Thedigitalaudiomanual.com Today we're onour seventh video as we continuediscussing the batch processor inwavelab Pro but before we start I wantto remind you that there's a link belowto the free content navigation guidewhich is an easy to navigate webpagewith links to all the content on thischannel and besides that in the nearfuture I'm going to begin adding tipsand other bits of information that willonly be available there you know thingslike simple steps that will get youstarted and up and running quick thingsthat are in the videos but are writtendown in simple steps that serve as quickreminders when you need information downthe road if you're working with programslike wave lab or Cubase plugins or thecable guys shaper box and many manyother projects that are in the worksthen I know you're going to find justlike I have that this is an invaluablestudy Aid and the other thing I want tomake sure you understand is that this isnot a simple PDF this is a constantlyupdated page that has any informationthat is new or anytime video videos arechanged really anything updated and onceyou have it you will always have thelatest information constantly updated soif you haven't gotten it already go tothe link below click on it and save itto your favorites it's my gift to youand it's absolutely free Okay so let'sget started so we're on the seventhvideo in our series of the batchprocessor here all the previous videosas always on this channel are in thenavigation guide in the link below andlet's focus a little bit down in thislower left area now in some previousvideos we went into real detail on whathappens on this output tab let's moveover and hit the format Tab and have alook at that we have a few options herebut the only one we're going to talkabout right now is this file formatoption and if you click on this you'rebasically going to see the same exactoptions that you have if you're going todo a render of some kind so whatever youhave saved in this list you have Factorypresets for the different encodingoptions but also anything you may haveset up for your own presets alright somoving on from the format tab to theoptions tab your first option down heresays create Peak files if you've everlooked into your files that you createwith wavelab typically you'll see alittle file that says gbk this allowsthe file or the picture of the file tobe drawn quickly if you don't want thatyou can uncheck that option and just asa side note for example all of thesefiles have gbk Peak files that's whythey open up so quickly if they didn'twhen I clicked on these it would take aminute for this file to actually draw inbut just as a side note if you want toturn those off in general if you go intoyour file and your preferences down toyour audio files and the tab that saysfile you have a few options here youhave one that says create the peak fileswhich you can just turn that off or youcan have one that says delete the peakfiles when you're closing it or the onethat I'm using now it actually allowsyou to just pick a folder that your Peakfiles go into so you can pick someseparate folder and then you don't haveto see those Peak files with youroriginal files currently that's theoption I've been using for a while andit works out really good so some otheroptions in the option tab if your batchprocessing Reverb and you want to addthe Reverb tail you can check that ifyour file has Mark markers you can checkthat and then you have this option thatsays unsuccess run the external tool theidea here is if you have some kind ofprogram like maybe a zip program and youwant to have that set up so that it runsafter it batch processes these files youwould go to this drop down you go up toconfigure the tool at that point you hitthis plus button give it a name hit thefolder so you can browse to your folderyou have to navigate down to find theprogram and click on it it's recommendedto give it some basic argument in thisslot for example the active name withits path would be a good option then youhit OK typically even after youconfigure you still have to go to thelist and find it in the list and selectit and then if it's compatible and itactually works when you run the filesthat program will open up and thenyou're given a couple of options here ifyou have files that are a little bitunusual you have one that says acceptunknown audio which you can then hit thedrop down and you can pick you know ifit's 8-bit or something that anythingthat's unusual if you just browse thisyou'll see some of the unusual optionsyou have another one that saysreinterpret the sample rates and itgives you a warning that says it maychange the sample rates and be carefulwith this one if you say okay to it thenyou can choose different sample ratesbut the bottom line for these optionsit's a way to try to address anythingthat may not be basically if you go uphere to your files of type and all yourlong list of files that are typical typeof files this is just another way tohelp find that or work with those kindof files but these are unusual optionsthen you have this final tab XML this isfor those that have programmingknowledge of XML and know what to do andhow to use it your first option heresays no XML process and if that'sselected basically this is all grayedout but if you hit this drop down youhave various options of transforming ofgenerating or importing different XML isthe second option over here that has anexample slot if you go down to yourpresets that gives you an HTML examplean XML example if you hit either one ofthese then it populates these otherslots if you go to this next drop downand hit the little folder it opens afolder from wavelab which then gives youthis HTML example shows you here whatyou're dealing with or the XML exampleshows you what you're dealing with ifyou have this kind of expertise and youunderstand this language this is theright tab for you and then we move overto the right we have a couple of tabs wehave this one that says execution andthis is a great set of options not to beoverlooked let's go through these realquick I want to show you basically youjust check the ones you want you know asdifferent options so your first choicehere says auto start when dropping thefile so if we check that now anytime Igrab files and drag them into theprocessor window it immediately justruns the process so if I have somethingset up here it's just going to do itsthing without me doing anything furtherI'm going to remove those if I go tothis next option it says Auto remove theconverted files we pick that it's goingto go through and process each of thefiles and then one by one remove themfrom the window when they process so Igrab these three I drag them init's going to process these three and asit does it it removes them I'm going touncheck that option the next option saysAuto insert files from The Source folderthis is a really good one if you takethe time to put your files into a folderthat you want to use then you can go upto this window here and just pick yourfolder whatever it is in this case I'llpick this folder say select the foldernow right now it's not showing the filesand I could go ahead and have it scan itbut I really don't need to all I have todo is start the process and it will scanthat folder put those files in thewindow and run the process that is asuper nice option if you've taken thetime to organize your files into afolder first so the next option saysstop on error if you want that and thena super good feature and you really wantto be aware of this you have an optiondown here to include the file list whenyou're saving one of the things I was alittle frustrated about when I firststarted using the batch processor is Iwould bring my files into the batchprocessor sometimes making a verycustomized list with various files andthat I would close my batch processoronly to come back and reopen it and findnone of my files were here and I wouldhave to restart all over again well ifyou do this before you shut your badgeprocessor down hit the option that saysinclude the file list when saving I'mgonna bring my files in and when I'mdone I go to close it and now it tellsme do I want to save it and I say yeahI'm going to save it now the next time Iopen up that batch processor those filesare all saved and I can change this asmany times as I want or customize it asmany times as I need even with differentbatch processor names but I can have myfile list always included then on theright you have an option for making useof the different cores of your processorif you want to change something likethat I have it on this default of onetask which it's always been on andthat's always worked just fine but youcan change that to whatever you needthen you have these options about howfiles are overwritten what you want tounderstand here is that when you run thebatch processor it creates files and ifthere are no files yet for the firsttime it's going to create those files solet me show you what I mean by that thisis the folder that ultimately my filesare going to be written into it's calledthe output I'm going to pull this out ofthe way for a minutebefore I do that there's nothing in hereit's empty okay now I'm going to pullthis out of here now I'm going to runthe batch processor so here we go onthese three filesand now when I look in my folder I havethose three files and they're calledexactly what they were originally whichin this case I just made them exampleone two and three but now what happensis on these other choices what you'resaying here is what do you want to doonce the files have been written do youwant to number one overwrite withoutquestion that just basically means it'sgoing to overwrite those files exactlylike that it's going to stop and askit's going to give you a warning do youwant to do it do you want it to reportan error do you want to skip it and thisMarket is done then you have an optionthat says Auto rename let's pick theauto rename for a minute so what doesthat mean you know how is it going torename them how does it know what to dowhat it's basically saying is youalready have the files in this case ex1two and three it's not going tooverwrite these it's actually going tomake three new copies and it's going tocall it something like ex1a or whateverit is let's go ahead and run it watchsee what it does I'm going to run thebatch processor and now where I hadthree files I have six files and I haveex1 and then ex11 so it just createdanother set of files but with differentnames and it did the renaming for meautomatically all right it's going towrap it up for today as always if youhaven't grabbed your navigation guide besure to grab that from the link belowgives you access to all the content onthis channel ever growing and free touse content is in order and categorizedand constantly being updated do yourselfa favor don't work so hard click on thelink get it download it save it to yourfavorites and then use it whenever youneed it so as we continue down the roadof the batch processor we started outlooking at the format Tab and saw how itwas pretty much like rendering welearned how to turn our Peak files on oroff we saw some of the options ofkeeping the Reverb tail or copying themarkers we looked at the XML Tab andthen we get into my favorite options onthe execution tab do not Overlook thatone because that has a lot of greatoptions for running the batch processoras we continue to learn how to operatethis tool so when we need to use it weknow what to do as always it's great tohave you guys here and I'll see you onthe next video
