hello everybody Andrew Blake from thedigitalaudiomanual.com today we move onto our second video as we continuediscussing the batch processor inwavelab Pro but before we start I wantto remind you that videoin our discussion of the badge processorprevious videos and all videos for thisChannel or in the navigation guide inthe link below but let's begin talkingabout what happens up here on the badgetoolbar in the reset options area soagain just observing how the batchprocessor works I have three processesset up here and over here I have threefiles that are going to get processedand they have single green circles herethat are empty when I hit the run all orthe start button either one I'm gonnahit the run all all the files that getprocessed correctly have now a solidGreen Dot on them I showed you in thelast video you can right click on theseand reset them but looking up on thetoolbar we have this reset and we havethe option to reset all the files so ifI hit that they all go back to thatclear green circle again so if I want toreprocess them again or I thought therewas something I needed to change there'smy option just reset everything if I runthem all againI also have these options to reset thefiles with errors or just selected filesin this case I had no errors if I haderrors I'd see red marks and I couldreset those but in this case I'm goingto make some selections I'll selectthese two hold Ctrl and those two fileswill now have the empty green circle asthey've been reset again so we move intothe insert section the first thing wehave here is the audio files with allthe typical ways of picking recent filesor at the bottom selecting all themultiple files you can browse or searchif you need to besides just the audiofiles you can actually bring in theaudio Montage files if your Montagecontains files all those files will bebrought in however you want to and thenyou have the option from files fromfolder where you can pick a specificfolder you can even pick a specific filetype that you want and this is really acore Concept in the batch processor ingeneral you're going to see a lot oftalk about you know going to a specificfolder or picking things out of a folderso again it's okay to like process acouple of files if you have them thatkind of thing but if you're going to bereally using the batch processor you'reprobably going to want to be thinking interms of where you store files intofolders so that at some point you canaccess you know folders of you knowlarge amounts of files 20 30 files ofsomething that you have that you need toprocess a certain way and then you wouldjust bring those folders in at one shotand everything will be done on thatfolder right now in my plugin chain Ihave no processes set up here I'veremoved them all you have an option overhere to add the master section preset soif I have any kind of Master sectionplugins I want to bring in I can justclick on this now right now I'm clickingon it's doing nothing because over in mymaster section I have no plugins if I goahead and add some plugins into mymaster section in this case I'll add alimiter and a dither now when I comeover here and I say add the mastersection now that limiter and the ditherhave been added right in there and I canprocess all my files with one shotthrough all these effects next to theinsert then you have the remove which wekind of looked at again it gives you theoption to remove all your files if Iclick on this click and drags them backin again I can pick selected ones andremove those or I can go the other wayand remove everything but the selectedfiles and then the options I have grayedout successfully processed files orfiles with errors any of those can beremoved in the list then I have anoption here in the file list area and itsays find and replace down in my batch Ihave these three different files exampleone example two and then example oneagain if I right click on one of thesefiles and I say reveal it in the fileexplorer it opens up the folder where Ihave these badge processing files and itshows me example one two and three ifthese files have been changed or updatedor I renamed them or any number ofthings but I have to change this exampleone to example three when I'm looking atit if I hit this find a replace optionand I type in example one and I say Iwant to replace it with example threeand if I needed to match the case Icould do it here but I hit replace allnow all my example ones have beenupdated to say example three now so farwith my experiments this is limited justto the folder where these files residebecause for example if I try to do thesame thing let's say I take examplethree here and I say find and replace Ijust type in some file that I know Ihave on my computer somewhere else Iknow I have this in another folder I hitreplace all and it just gives me anerror screen saying no occurrence wasfound and the text was not replaced soobviously things have to be in the samefolder to carry out this function allright so this next one is pretty wildand that involves these options in thefile list that say import a file list orexport a file list and the concept hereis that you can actually import a textfile which has the paths of the filesthat you want to process and the batchprocessor will actually open up allthose files to be processed and the bestway I can demonstrate this is first goto the one that says export the filelist so if I hit export the file listactually before I do that notice I havethree files here in my batch processorthat are residing on my hard drive inspecific locations so I'm going to go tothis thing that says export the filelist hit that at that point it takesthose files and puts them into a texteditor in this case my notepad and typesthe actual locations of the files ofthese three files so now I have thistext file which I could add to if Iwanted to I could type more files butI'm just going to leave these three soyou can see it as a demonstration sowith an active text file with threefiles now on it I'm going to save thisso I go to file and save as and thisopens up a location on my hard drive andI'm just going to pick a spot where Isave these kind of things say Okay closeall that down now I'm going to go andremove these files that I have here inthe processor so here I am in a blankslate I have no files on my processorand everything over here in their filelist is grayed out except for the optionto import a file list so if I click onthat I would navigate to wherever I saygave these kind of text files in thiscase I'm going to go to where I save mythree file song list I'm going to clickon it double click on it and it actuallyopened up those three files again in thebatch processor ready to be processedthis whole concept that you can textyour files is I don't know it's justreally amazing to me but basically whatthis allows is you can create you knowlong elaborate lists of different kindsof files that you need to process andthen you can just save them into thistext file which then can be updated orchanged any way you want and reopenedany way you want at a later time to beprocessed so one thing to mention that'sfairly obvious if things are in progressor if a process is going on and you tryto do this remove files option in hereit basically will ignore you you have tostop the process or only have completedfiles before you can remove them andthen going on to the last option in theedit bar here you have this XML and thething you're going to find is you gothrough wavelab and really Cubase or anyof the programs there's all the thisoption for creating these XML documentsbasically you can save you know amontage is as XML documents or lists offiles as XML documents and then you canopen them up into the batch processorand process them I will try to find someexamples of this as we go along so wecan see it in action but that's what theXML option is all about and we'vealready kind of looked at this addeffect window but this is kind of likewhere all the processing happens as wesaid you hit the plus button which opensup your option to pick your variousplugins or processes that you want touse which you can click and drag rightinto this window you can check them oruncheck them depending on whether youwant them to actually run or not you candouble click on them to open them up tomake various changes to the settings ofthese plugins and then if you want toremove them you would right click onthem and you have all kinds of optionsfor remove one or remove them all andalso something to notice too is as theyrun these there's little arrows on theright which you will see progress as theprocesses go down the line all right thelast thing to talk about in this videoin this window over here this is wherewe insert the files which we've kind oftouched on but I'm going to show you alittle bit more here first of all let meremove these files I'm going to go overto remove all files so the first thingto understand is you have an option toadd files by right-clicking with contextmenus here which point you could insertaudio files or Montage files right inthis windowbut you also can come up to the edit Taband insert montage and audio files andvarious things that way so you have thetwo approaches of either right clickingor going right up to the tab or in mycase I'm going to go right up to thefile browser to files I've stored I'mgoing to click some and drag them rightin herenow when the files are in this fileinsert window you get access to somecontext menus that I have to say areprobably some of my favorite options inthis batch processor in general let'slook at some of these if I right clickon any one of these files of course Ihave the option to reset it if it's beenprocessed or remove it then the GreatStuff shows up where you can edit it ifI go to this edit option here it nowopens it up in the audio editor and thisis not a copy this is the actual file inthe audio editor so be aware if you doany kind of changes here you're doingdestructive editing right on the fileitself but a great option to get rightto your files quick the next thing thatshows up here is always my all-timefavorite and that's how it shows you inthe file explorer which happenseverywhere you go in wavelab gives youthe option to open it right up into thefile explorer and see where it's locatedwhere you can do any number of changesif you want or add folders or whateveryou want to do to it and then the superfun option that if you right click youhave an option to open this with yourdefault the application basicallywhatever you have assigned to play wavfiles on your systemand then you can audition your filesright there that's just a fantasticfeatureand then the next option we have herewhich we've talked about already theoption to preview the processing so youget a little you know short preview ofwhatever processing you're going to doand then again you're insert of yourdifferent audio and Montage ended offlooking at entering your files eitherfrom Context or on the tabs and thenonce the files are in all those greatoptions of resetting it and removing itor editing it in the audio editorrevealing it in the Explorer the optionto hear it in your default app and thepreview processing so the list offeatures and things that the badgeprocessor will do go on and on and onand we will continue to
